Her Divine Grace Sri Jayanthi Kumaraswami was born and realized in Chennai, Tamil Nadu, India. Swamiji’s birth was a miracle as Her mother was told by doctors that her four month old fetus was dead and had to undergo an urgent abortion. To their surprise, a big worm came out of her body and they learnt that the fetus was still alive. Swamiji was born five months later. During Swamiji’s early childhood, Her parents understood that their child was not normal. Instead of playing with Her schoolmates, Swamiji would always sit alone and chant mantras and repeat the name of God. At the age of seven, Swamiji’s body was levitated into the air and was brought back onto the floor by a rishi who appeared and comforted Her. At this juncture, Swamiji began to realize that She had a special purpose on Earth. This led to series of supernatural occurrences in Swamiji’s household. One such occurrence with Swamiji’s sister changed her attitude towards Swamiji forever. One night, Swamiji’s sister removed the pillow from under Her head while sleeping. Suddenly, Swamiji’s sister heard a voice, “Phoebusia, Phoebusia, Phoebusia!” The supernatural being then said, “How dare you take the Divine Mother’s pillow?” Later, Swamiji’s family leant that Phoebusia meant The Shining One; a Latin name for the Greek Sun God.
Swamiji’s family members were convinced that their child was the embodiment of the Divine and gave Her a personal room so She will not be disturbed. As years went by, Swamiji rediscovered Her power and understood Her mission. Everything that Swamiji said to people became reality. By the age of fifteen, Swamiji was crowded by people who needed guidance and blessings. Like a precious jewel, like no other in the World, Swamiji naturally attracted everyone who came in contact with Her. No one taught Swamiji spiritual discipline. She is Swayambhu; Her knowledge and power is a born quality. Everyone who experienced Swamiji’s grace can testify that Her Holiness is indeed an Avatar; God in Human form. However, Swamiji never boasted that She does great miracles.
Swamiji’s mission is to bring peace and happiness, and to remove doubt from our minds and replace it with the Divine Truth. Swamiji’s aim is to allow humanity to experience the true nature of God. She is here to deliver humanity from the darkness of this Age and usher the us into the Age of Truth. Swamiji’s modern, yet disciplined, approach to spirituality attracts people of different religions, class and ethnic backgrounds, people of all ages, Government officials to the average worker, and businessmen to housekeepers.
